The brief
A UK visa application needs an independent report confirming the proposed accommodation is safe, habitable and not overcrowded to Home Office standards. Most applicants have never heard of the requirement until a solicitor tells them they need one, usually with a deadline attached.
So the site had two jobs at once: explain an unfamiliar service clearly enough that an anxious visitor understands what they are buying, and establish Homewise as a specialist practice rather than a general surveyor who will fit them in.
What I built
- A landing page organised around the question every visitor actually arrives with — will my property pass, and how fast can I have the report?
- A clear split between on-site physical inspections and remote desktop assessments, with the coverage map making the 899+ locations across 833 towns concrete.
- Quote and enquiry forms routed straight to the inbox, with the express 24-hour option surfaced where the urgency is felt.
- Process, coverage, testimonial and FAQ sections sequenced against the objections that come up before someone books.
- On-page SEO, structured metadata and a sitemap, so the site is findable for the searches applicants and immigration solicitors genuinely make.
- Analytics and Search Console wired up from day one.
Where it landed
The site reads as a specialist practice, not a general surveyor — the distinction the business competes on.
Coverage spans 100% of the UK including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with on-site inspections inside 24 hours in major towns and reports issued in 24–48.
The credibility markers do the heavy lifting: Home Office and UKVI compliant, assessed against the Housing Act 1985 and the Housing Act 2004 HHSRS, signed off by an ACIEH-qualified Environmental Health Practitioner, and backed by a free re-issue if a submission slips past the 28-day window.
